Archives differ from libraries in several ways.

Libraries contain published books and periodicals.  Archives collect and preserve unpublished material -- such as government reports, private manuscripts (including personal letters, diaries, and memoirs), photographs, drawings, architectural plans, maps, films, and sound recordings.

Archivists and archival institutions in British Columbia are represented by the Archives Association of British Columbia [AABC].  The Association maintains the on-line British Columbia Archives Union List [BCAUL], a database that provides descriptions of nearly 200 archives in the province.  The Union List is available through the British Columbia Archival Network website.

You can search the AABC/BC Archival network website in a number of ways for material relating to your school.

You'll also find material in the BC Archives in Victoria and on the BC Archives website.
