Oral history can be a valuable tool for Making History!

You can learn lots about your school from retired teachers and school administrators.  Members of the local heritage society can tell you about the history of your community.  People who belong to the Parent Advisory Council in your school may be helpful, too.

For PACs, ask at your school or contact the British Columbia Confederation of Parents' Advisory Councils in Vancouver.

The British Columbia Retired Teachers' Association has nearly 40 branches in all parts of the province.  Many branches include Heritage Committees.

Your local historical society is also an excellent reference point.  In our province, most local history societies are affiliated with the British Columbia Historical Federation.
